I kept wondering how my little grandkids that had been such rock climbers when they had lived in Moab would do with these rocks. Most of the time it was just getting firm footing to go over them but sometimes you would find one that was very slippery. We both came very close to taking a tumble on them.
So, after we walked south then we headed north and we walked the entire Rothesay and then on to Brown's bay. It is a very long beach and not very pretty. There are lots of flat lava rocks right out in the water and they have all sorts of things growing on them. At the north end of Brown's Bay we came to all these rocks that are in the photo above. We walked on them and then we came to the next bay which is Torbay. It is a long beach and would take a good hour to go up and then to work our way around all of the rocks. We will save that for another day but when we go around that last bend we will be at Long Bay which is where we want to get! We will have to be sure we are doing it at the lowest tides possible. It has been a fun walk.
I am sure we will walk these beaches again, especially the ones to the south because they are our favorites but it has been fun to explore our little part of the world.
I am going to try and add a link here and if that link works then you are going to be able to see all of the places we have walked. Just remember that we also have walked on the connecting coastline!
I think you have to copy and paste it. Hopefully you will enjoy seeing where we have been!
